Vintage viscose blend shawl collar jacket from independent designer Tamotsu New York in an easy-to-match tan-black weave. Shoulder pads, lined torso (but not sleeves), well sewn. Size 2 (around 18-20): 50” bust, 16” upper arm circumference, 25” shoulder to hem. From the Times in 1982: “Mostly by word of mouth, many women in New York are discovering the work of Tamotsu Toda, 36. His clean and elegant lines are quite unlike the oversize and layered looks favored by Japanese designers working in Europe.” Versatile easy jacket to pop over an Ecru blouse for work or teacher conference.
