This letter is made of painted recycled wood from the village of La Palma, El Salvador.
This type of folk art originates with the artist Fernando Llort when he moved to this village from San Salvador for inspiration in 1972. He taught the villagers the techniques and processes of drawing and painting that creates an elaborate and colorful art. Thus the La Palma folk art has been flourishing ever since. This art brings together the past and present, with a primitive, yet modern style. These letters are very popular in spelling names and words on the walls of children's rooms or adding a touch of bright and cheerful color to any room.
